Marsha R. Johnson, Cake Crafter, has been designing, baking and decorating cakes since before she was 12 years old. Originally from Midlothian, Va., a suburb of Richmond, Marsha was raised in a southern home with lots of artistic and business influence. Marsha’s first full time job was as head cake decorator with
Dot’s Pastry Shop/Ukrop's in Cary Town. Her business,
The Catery, was the first caterer featured and used by the Virginia Film Commission in the 1980’s providing on location catering for movies, commercials and television productions. In 1985, Marsha and her family moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she has resided ever since.
Marsha is an ordained non-denominational minister and also performs wedding ceremonies on the beach. Now with 3 grandchildren on the Outer Banks, Marsha enjoys working out of her home baking and designing custom
